2019 Columbia FLDD
The Columbia Future Leader’s Dialogue Dinner on November 14th, 2019 was a wonderful success and we would like to thank all the students and faculty who helped make it a special evening! We were joined by student leaders from Allen University, Columbia College, Claflin University, Cardinal Newman High School and Red Cross VolunTEENs at the Palmetto Club in Columbia. Our theme for the evening was “Embracing Differences and Encouraging Uniqueness” and we were so fortunate to be able to share in riveting discussions, gaining insight on other cultures, and learning what it means to be a leader.
We would like to extend our thanks once again to keynote speaker Adrian Bird, the President of Interfaith Partners of South Carolina, who exemplifies the theme of the night through his work, words and actions.
We had several lucky winners of our Leadership Bridge day trip to Columbia that were chosen by raffle. Nea Richard, Ty’Shawn Turner, Skylar Harvin, Lance Reese and Steve Ntwa all will join us for a trip in February to the South Carolina State House to meet with local politicians and participate in a Leadership Dialogue meal.
We want to give a special thanks to all the sponsoring departments for making this program possible. We would also like to extend our thanks to Cindy Pharis for keeping us on track and providing valuable insights throughout the evening.
