Atlantic Institute cooked lunch for Triune Mercy Center

On Sunday February 7th the Greenville office of Atlantic Institute cooked lunch for Triune Mercy Center, a Non Denominational Church that works alongside the homeless here in Greenville. We cooked over 25 pounds of rice as well as potatoes, carrots, peas and beef and made a huge cake and salad. Serving the community is at the core of our foundation. There was also a group of young men volunteering from Aldersgate UMC that we were able to work alongside with that will grow up to be outstanding leaders in our community.

And always...we like to thank our cooks...because Turkish food is always extremely delicious. They received many compliments and returns for seconds.

Atlantic Institute donated 200 pound meat to the Triune Mercy Center on October 18,2015.

The Islamic festival of Eid Al-Adha, or "Festival of Sacrifice" is the second major festival after the Ramadan. The Arabic word "Adha"means "sacrifice."

It is in the month of Hajj in which Muslims perform Hajj, pilgrimage. During the pilgrimage, pilgrims in Mina, Saudi Arabia, sacrifice an animal for the sake of God. On the same day, Muslims elsewhere in the world celebrate the festival of Eid Al-Adha, in which those who can afford to, also sacrifice an animal to gain God’s pleasure, embodying the sacrifice made by Prophet Abraham [peace be upon him] when he was ordered by God in his dream to sacrifice his son Ismael [peace be upon him], to which he complied. His spirit of unflinching submission to God is epitomized every year as Muslims indulge in a similar sacrifice.

The Muslim who can afford to, they buy a sacrificial animal. This could be a male ram, goat, sheep, cow, or a camel. The more beloved and dear the animal is to its owner, the more meaningful will be its sacrifice.

Muslims gift meat to relatives and neighbors: Muslims send fresh meat to neighbors, relatives and friends as a sign of sharing and caring throughout the three days of Eid Al-Adha.

Helping the Homeless and Hungry

Atlantic Institute undertakes projects that benefit the poor and homeless in the South Carolina.

During the holy month of Ramadan in 2011, our foundation organized an event to provide hot meals at the Columbia Oliver Gospel Mission. Over the course of this event, volunteers from our foundation provided hot meals for approximately 120 individuals.

Our foundation also donated three hundred pound meat from the Festival of Sacrifice to the homeless shelter. Our volunteers have chosen to make a contribution to Columbia Oliver Gospel Mission that provides meals to those who are in need.
