Book Reading Discussion
The creation of dialogue through reading and understanding from a third person point of view may just be the best way for us to speak about the topic of Race. The topic of Race is one that must be discussed, dissected and completely understood and acknowledged in order to move forward to a clearer understanding.
We are thankful that we have two great facilitators to share with us on a book reading discussion, So You Want to Talk About Race. If you'd like to join us for a discussion on this very timely topic, please get a copy of the book and start reading...and then tune into a virtual discussion on Zoom, on July 16th at 7pm. Make sure that you sign up below in order to receive the Zoom info.
In addition, Dr Paul Thompson and Johannah Myers will also hold a virtual discussion on August 13th at 7pm on the book, Divided by Faith: Evangelical Religion and the Problem of Race in America. You may get your copy of the book now as well and sign up below for the second book discussion.
Dr Paul Thompson is the Dean of the College of Humanities and Sciences at North Greenville University. His PhD is in American History.
Johannah Myers is the Director of Christian Formation at Aldersgate UMC. Her D.Min is in Leadership in the Wesleyan Tradition from Wesley Theological Seminary and Wesley House, Cambridge
